Rather like last Monday, with grilled salmon (om nom nom), lettuce and rice w/furikake. Added the torn-apart vegetable stir fry (Just Bento recipe here).
An unmitigated disaster. Pre-made, frozen onigiri tasted weird. Steamed broccoli was fine, but dull. Tamagoyaki stuck to the pan and sort of disintegrated (first time that's ever happened - I nearly burst into tears over the hot stove). Babybel cheese, though yummy, doesn't fit well into a bento and the packaging means there's not much food for the space required to house it.
To add insult to injury, I forgot to take a photo before I started eating, so it looks even more sad than when I packed it :'(
Rice w/furikake, sweet pepper and onion confit (Just Bento recipe here), frozen tofu nuggets (Just Bento recipe here, need to work on the seasoning), steamed snow peas.
Shuumai, yellow capsicum (left over from the confit), steamed broccoli, soba noodles with sesame (Nigella Lawson recipe here).
Rice w/furikake, teriyaki chicken (Just Bento recipe here), orange juice carrots (Just Bento recipe here), tamagoyaki (success \o/), steamed baby spinach.
That's it, folks. Bento making is tiring. Planning is tiring. Pre-preparing is tiring. Morning rice-making is tiring (though vastly preferable to frozen, taste and consistency-wise). I'm so tired!
On to Week 3. There'll be no "planned" bento tomorrow, as it's a public holiday. I'll just grab some staples from the freezer, steam some greens and maybe whip up some tamogoyaki or something...
Also, on a Random Fandom note because I just connected today's date with a birthday):
